A CITY
TRANSFORMING

Opera Square is a transformational project for Limerick. The fully developed site will be capable of employing up to 3,000 people across a 450,000 sq ft campus. At its heart is a vibrant central plaza designed for community gatherings and hosting a variety of cultural and entertainment events. This day-time employment hub will transform into a bustling night-time destination complete with restaurants, bars and open entertainment spaces. Opera Square is the start of Limerick’s Waterfront Strategy and will act as a catalyst for other major city centre developments to follow.

Opera Square includes the largest new civic space to be created in Limerick City Centre in over 100 years. The project blends new next generation structures with 16 carefully preserved heritage buildings. Set around a large civic square, the development includes a 14 storey office building, a vibrant library, which will become Limerick’s living room, a hotel, leisure spaces, and places to live and work. The development is designed to integrate new buildings with refurbished Limerick Georgian structures, creating a seamless blend of old meets new.

Opera Square is a 3.7-acre commercial development by Limerick Twenty Thirty, a property development company established by Limerick City and County Council to develop key strategic sites in Limerick. The primary goal of the Opera Square project is to promote employment, enterprise, investment, and economic development within the city while also being a demonstrator project for sustainability and innovation.

The One Opera Square building is being developed on behalf of the Treaty Stone Partnership, a joint venture between Limerick Twenty Thirty and the Irish Strategic Investment Fund. This partnership aims to support the long-term economic and social development of Limerick. The investment in One Opera Square building will contribute to significant job creation, urban regeneration, and the promotion of sustainable practices within the city.
